Nashville strutted to an 11 1/2-length maiden special weight win on Sept. 2 at Saratoga in his career debut. The bay colt covered the 6 1/2-furlongs in a lively 1:14.48, less than a second off the track record, earning a 91 Beyer Speed Figure and also named a TDN Rising Star.
Trained by Steve Asmussen for CHC Inc. and WinStar Farm was a $460,000 auction purchase at the 2018 Keeneland September Yearling sale.
Nashville was bred by Breffni Farm in Kentucky and is out of the Mizzen Mast mare Veronique. His third dam Set Them Free produced 2005 Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Giacomo and multiple Grade 1 winner Tiago.
Nashville is the fifth ‘Rising Star’ in 2020 for leading sire Speightstown, whose offspring have earned nearly $8 million this year.
