Geleta’s debut victory Monday at Parx gave Speightster his fourth winner and elevated him to the top of the First-Crop sire list of 2020 with more than $210,000 in progeny earnings to date.
Geleta, and Equivine Farm homebred, captured the five-furlong race by 1 1/2-lengths over a fast local main track for trainer Ed Coletti, Jr. The bay filly is the latest of three winners out of the Medaglia d’Oro mare Tweet, whose dam Courtly Kathy was a four-time stakes winner.
Speightster’s three previous winners also proved victorious in maiden special weights, with Fabricate going on to place in the $100,000 Debutante S. last weekend at Ellis Park.
