Momos strutted to a 6 1/2-length maiden special weight debut win Saturday at Saratoga, earning the Distorted Humor colt the distinguished TDN ‘Rising Star’ tag.
Momos, running for Ironhorse Racing Stable LLC and Secure Investments, made the lead just a few strides out of the gate and never let any of his foes within a length until the top of the stretch, when he drew away with ease to win in a hand ride.
The winner was bred by Tami Bobo and the Distorted Humor Syndicate and is the second foal out of Inspeight of Us, whose siblings include millionaire and Grade 1 filly Daddys Lil Darling, Breeders’ Cup Turf Sprint (G1) winner Mongolian Saturday, and multiple stakes winner Victoryasecret.
Distorted Humor has had a remarkable 28 TDN Rising Stars in his illustrious career, with the likes of Restless Rider, Quip, Maclean’s Music, Alternation, and Any Given Saturday on the list.
