Scilly Cay began his 3-year-old campaign Jan. 12 at Aqueduct with a 2 1/2-length victory in the $100,000 Rego Park S., the first added-money victory for the Fed Biz colt.
Fed Biz finished 2019 as the top-ranked Second-Crop Sire by both black type winners and black type horses. He is standing this year at WinStar Farm for $7,500 live foal, stands and nurses.
Scilly Cay and multiple stakes winner Dream Bigger went to the lead right after the gate opened, with the duo battling through a half-mile in :45.94. Scilly Cay put his head in front with about a quarter-mile to run, then drew off in the stretch to win handily.
Second in the Notebook S. in November, Scilly Cay is now 2-1-1 in four starts and has earned $118,460 for his owner/breeder Alpha Delta Stables. Scilly Cay’s dam French Satin has produced three stakes winners, including Bay Shore S. (G3) winner Long Haul Bay.
