Party Lights led nearly all the way in her seven-furlong maiden win Nov. 21 at Churchill Downs to become Carpe Diem’s 12th winner from his first crop.
Carpe Diem, a Grade 1 winner at 2 and 3, earned more than $1.5 million in his career. One of the most popular young stallions since entering stud in 2016, he has bred an average of more than 140 mares per season.
Party Lights won Thursday’s main track affair by 1 1/2-lengths, relinquishing the lead only briefly mid-race.
Bred by Royal Oak Farm and Christiana Stables, Party Lights hails from the family multiple Grade 1 winner Pure Clan and Grade 2 winner Greater Good.
