Constitution, currently the No. 1 First-Crop Sire of 2019, tallied his 16th winner on Oct. 25 at Keeneland when the 2-year-old filly We the Clouds scored by four lengths in a six-furlong maiden special weight on the main track.
We the Clouds, owned by her breeder Patricia Pavlish, broke alertly from post seven and made her way to the rail to sit just behind pacesetter One Step. After a half-mile in :46.84, We the Clouds swung wide and took the lead, then quickly opened up to win going away in 1:10.71 on a fast track (VIDEO).
We the Clouds is the first foal out of Cloudy Vow, who placed in the Pocahontas S. (G2) at two and is a half-sister to multiple stakes winner Tapa Tapa Tapa.
Constitution has already had three graded stakes winners from his first crop, topped by Champagne S. (G1) winner Tiz the Law. His first Breeders’ Cup starter will be Our Country, who most recently finished third in the Pilgrim S. (G3), earning the 2-year-old colt a spot in the Nov. 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf (G1) at Santa Anita Park.
WinStar recently announced Constitution’s 2020 fee at $40,000 stands and nurses.
