Deviant’s two-length victory in the $60,000 Sunday Silence S. at Louisiana Downs made the 2-year-old Daredevil filly two-for-two in stakes company. Both of her wins have come on the grass after a trio of dirt tries to start her 2019 campaign.
Daredevil already has three stakes horses from his first crop, including Shedaresthedevil, who placed in the Grade 3 Sorrento S. at Del Mar.
Deviant, the post time favorite, was ridden patiently early, sitting in seventh after a half-mile. Given her cue on the turn, she steadily advanced and ran down the leaders in deep stretch to get the 7 1/2-furlongs in 1:29.96 on the firm turf.
Deviant, who won the El Joven S. last month, is 2-0-1 in five starts and has earned $94,160 for Red Lane Thoroughbreds. He was bred by Robert G. Harvey.
