Sharing drew off powerfully in the stretch en route to a 6 1/4-length maiden special weight win Sunday at Saratoga, a performance that earned a the 2-year-old Speightstown filly a TDN Rising Star tag.
In a three-way duel for the lead for the first half-mile, Sharing began to edge clear midway on the turn, then swung wide into the stretch and bounded away from the field to finish the seven furlongs in 1:24.32 on a “good” main track (VIDEO).
The winner was a $350,000 purchase at the 2018 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select Yearling sale by his owner Eclipse Thoroughbred Partners. Bred by Sagamore Farm, the filly is out of Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare (G1) winner Shared Account, who is also responsible for Distorted Humor’s stakes winner Riley’s Choice.
Speightstown is enjoying another excellent year at stud with more than $6.5 million in progeny earnings, six stakes winners and 96 individual winners to date. Sharing is his 12th lifetime TDN Rising Star, joining Fast Bullet, Rock Fall, Speightster and other top-class runners.
