Just a few moments into Tuesday’s closing session of the Aug. 5-6 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Yearling Sale Juddmonte Farms came away the top bidder at $600,000 for a Tiznow colt consigned by Warrendale Sales, agent for Stonestreet.
The bay juvenile’s illustrious pedigree starts with his dam Stormin Maggy, a stakes-placed daughter of Storm Cat who is a half-sister to Belmont S. (G1) and Preakness S. (G1) winner and champion Afleet Alex and the stakes winner Unforgettable Max, and his third dam is the Grade 1 winner Qualique.
Tuesday’s sale price was the highest yearling to date in 2019 for his sire, while his top 2-year-old matched that figure at the OBS 2-year-olds in Training sale this April. Tiznow has a total of 48 lots in the upcoming Keeneland September Yearling sale.
