Daredevil had the top-priced colt by a freshman sire during the first session of the June 12-14 OBS 2-year-olds in Training Sale when hip No. 100 brought a winning bid of $245,000 from Reddam Racing LLC.
Consigned by Wavertree Stables, agent, the dark bay had breezed a co-fastest quarter-mile of :20 3/5 during the Under Tack Show, prompting plenty of interest from buyers.
“We felt that he was the outstanding physical of the sale, Steve Venosa, who signed the ticket on behalf of Reddam, said. “He worked well on the racetrack and he showed well. He did everything right.”
The colt is out of Bible and from the family of Grade One winner Corinthian.
First-Crop sire Daredevil was represented by his first winner later in the day when the colt Better the Devil won at first asking at Hamilton racetrack in Great Britain.
