WinStar Farm’s and Blazing Meadows homebred Diamond Dust chalked up his fourth straight win in Saturday’s $75,000 Tall Stacks S. at Belterra Park. The 3-year-old son of Paynter now has six wins in eight starts, four of them in stakes, and has earned $283,100.
As he has done in all of his victories, Diamond Dust was in content from the start of Saturday’s 6 1/2-furlong contest, then took over coming out of the turn and was in hand late to win by 1 1/2-lengths.
Diamond Dust’s dam has produced three winners from four starters, including the stakes-placed Marathon. The female family traces back to champion 2-year-old male Arazi and the Grade 1 winner Joyeux Danseur.
Paynter has been near the top of the 2019 Third-Crop Sire list nearly all year, and is currently ranked first by stakes winners and stakes wins, and third by both progeny earnings and winners.
