A filly from the first crop of multiple graded stakes winner Commissioner worked a quarter-mile in :20 1/5 Tuesday at the Under Tack show in preparation for the April 23-26 OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in Training, sharing the fastest time at the distance.
The bay Kentucky bred, hip No. 365, is scheduled to sell on day 2 of the auction. She is out of Money Madness, a half-sister to stakes placed Feminine Girl and Payday Peril, and is consigned to the April sale by Jenn and Quincy Adams’s Q Bar J Thoroughbreds.
“We believed she was very fast and she’d prepped very well,” Quincy Adams said. “She has been a rock star all year. She has filled in in all the right places and is just a beautiful filly to look at on the shank ”
The filly’s third dam, Mesabi, is a half-sister to Cozzene and the dam of graded stakes winner Funistrada.
Commissioner has a total of 16 lots cataloged in the four-day auction. His 2-year-olds have brought up to $450,000 during this spring’s auction season, with an average of more than 26 times his stud fee of $7,500.
