Fed Biz tallied his ninth first-crop winner on Saturday at Aqueduct when Family Biz finished very strongly to break his maiden by a neck at seven furlongs (VIDEO).
Top-ten Freshman Sire Fed Biz has three stakes horses among his nine winners. In 2018 he bred 159 mares, the most of his four seasons standing at WinStar. His fee for 2019 will be $10,000.
Family Biz got the first call out of the gate, but quickly backed out of a five-way scramble for the lead. Content to sit well off the back on the backstretch and around the turn, the dark bay commenced his rally in upper stretch while well out in the middle of the track. He passed Mine the Coin in the final sixteenth and held off late-closing Haikal to win by a neck in 1:24.78 on a “good” main track.
The winner is owned by Danny Chen, James Cestaro and Campbell Road Stables and was bred in Kentucky by Alex & JoAnn Lieblong.
