Constitution, whose first crop are yearlings of 2018, had his best auction results of the year during Tuesday’s closing session of the Aug. 6-7 Saratoga Select Yearlings sale.
The multiple Grade 1-winning stallion’s hip No. 168, consigned by Warrendale Sales, agent, went to Kerri Radcliffe for $185,000. The chestnut filly’s dam, Azalea Belle, by Dixie Union, has produced three winners from her first three foals to race. Azalea Belle’s dam Westerly Breeze won the Grade 2 Alcibiades S. at Keeneland.
Bred to more than 100 mares each of his first three seasons, Constitution stood for $25,000 during the 2018 season at WinStar Farm. Constitution has eight lots cataloged in the Aug. 11-12 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga New York-bred Preferred Yearlings sale.
