Sirenusa chalked up her second stakes win in her young career on July 19 when she took the $100,000 TaWee S. at Indiana Downs by 1 1/2-lengths.
The 3-year-old Tiznow filly has won four of five career outings, Including the Northbound Pride Oaks at Canterbury Downs on May 28, and has banked $178,400 for owners Joni and Barry Butzow.
Ridden by Adam Beschizza, as she was in her previous four starts, Sirenusa stalked the pace in fourth for the first five furlongs, then moved for the lead, opening up by two lengths in mid-stretch, ultimately winning by 1 1/2-lengths in 1:36.99 for the mile on the firm turf.
“This filly has an A-plus temperament,” said Beschizza. “She’s very easy to work with and very easy to ride. She is all class. I’d like to thank the Butzow’s and (trainer) Joe (Sharp) for allowing me to ride her.”
Tiznow’s runners have continued to perform at the highest level this year, with the 3-year-old filly Red Ruby dominating both the Black-Eyed Susan S. (G2) and Delaware Oaks (G3) and Tiz A Slam scoring in the Dominion Day S. (G3).
