More Than Ready had the session-topper during the first day of the May 21-22 Fasig-Tipton Midlantic 2-year-olds in Training Sale on Monday when Ed Savant, Jr. went to $750,000 to secure hip No. 204.
Consigned by Hartley/deRenzo Thoroughbreds, agent, the colt is out of the Canadian Champion mare Embur’s Song. She is a half-sister to the stakes winner Ten Flat as well as the stakes-placed Dawn Raid, who is the dam of Preakness S. (G1) winner and WinStar stallion Exaggerator.
The $750,000 colt was the highest price paid for a More Than Ready 2-year-old this year, topping a $626,955 offering last week at the Arqana sale in Deauville. His top filly of 2018 was a $752,745 lot a the Tattersall’s April Sale.
