Speightstown’s lone offering at the March 28th Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream 2-year-old sale got plenty of attention in the auction ring, ultimately bringing a winning bid of $650,000 from China Horse Club International.
The price was one of the top 10 colts at Wednesday’s auction, and raised Speightstown’s 2018 2-year-old sales average to $403,333.
SVG Thoroughbreds consigned the colt, hip No. 83. The chestnut juvenile is the first foal out of Schuylerville S. (G3) winner Brazen Persuasion.
In addition to his stellar sales results this year, Speightstown’s offspring have been starring on track as well, with eight stakes horses to date, led by the 3-year-old colt Strike Power, winner of the Swale S. (G3) and running in the March 31 Florida Derby (G1).
