Rachel’s Blue Moon, a 2-year-old Bodemeister filly, showed tremendous late kick in her maiden special weight victory Saturday at Aqueduct, winning the six-furlong contest by nearly three lengths in her career debut.
The bay juvenile, bred and owned by Chester and Mary Broman, is the 59th winner this year for Bodemeister, the nation’s number one Second-Crop Sire of this year’s Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Always Dreaming.
Rachel’s Blue Moon covered the six panels in a solid 1:09.73, coming from several lengths off the pace in the stretch to get the win (VIDEO).
The winner is the first foal out of Beautiful But Blue, a three-time stakes winner of nearly $400,000.
