Yes to the Dress rolled to a 5 1/4-length victory in Saturday’s $60,000 Jamestown S. at Laurel Park, marking the stakes debut as well as the first start on the turf for the 2-year-old Congrats filly.
The race was never really in doubt as Yes to the Dress, much like she did in her Sept. 13 maiden win, went to the front right away, then drew off in the lane to win in hand. She covered the 5 1/2-furlongs on the firm turf in 1:03.27.
The winner is trained by Ron Moquett for It’s All About The Girls Stable LLC. Yes to the Dress is one of 15 foals out of Chemise, with a remarkable 14 winners, four stakes winners and six stakes horses from the group.
Yes to the Dress sold to her owners for $105,000 at last year’s Fasig-Tipton New York Selected Yearling sale. She is the 70th lifetime black type horse for Congrats, whose $1.7 million sales-topper at the OBS March Sale is the highest-priced 2-year-old to sell at auction this year.
