Mrs Worldwide chalks up second straight black type win in Sandpiper S.

Global Campaign’s stellar 2-year-old filly wrapped up her 2024 season with two straight stakes wins, the latest coming Saturday at Tampa Bay Downs in the $75,000 Sandpiper S.

Mrs Worldwide, her sire’s leading earner, is one of four stakes horses and 15 winners for Global Campaign. A Grade 1-winning half-brother to Bolt d’Oro, Global Campaign will stand in 2025 for $7,500 S&N.

With Samuel Marin in the irons for the first time, Mrs Worldwide got an ideal stalking trip behind a swift early pace. Going three-wide on the turn, Mrs Worldwide passed horses easily and took command with a quarter-mile to run. She accelerated away from Carroll’s Honor in midstretch and gamely held off Hollygrove to win by a half-length in 1:10.07 on a fast track.

“When I saw the first quarter (a swift 22.32 seconds), I thought Samuel had her in a great spot. She was traveling well and I started to think she had a pretty good shot,” said Nic Lynch, son of trainer Brian Lynch. “Then she came down the lane and held on, so it was a very successful trip for us up to Tampa. She’s just a lovely filly to have in the barn.”

Owned by Flying Dutchmen Breeding and Racing LLC, Mrs Worldwide is 3-0-2 in six starts and has earned $124,700. The chestnut filly was bred in Florida by Rebecca Ming.
