More Than Ready got his newest stakes winner on Saturday at Louisiana Downs when the 4-year-old filly Justa Lady kicked into high gear in deep stretch to win the $50,000 Tellike S. over the Louisiana Downs turf course (VIDEO).
The winner joins the like of More Than Ready’s recent first-time stakes winners Copper Bullet (G2 Saratoga Special) and Catholic Boy (G3 With Anticipation S.) as one of his 176 lifetime stakes winners.
The “about” five-furlong Tellike was Justa Lady’s stakes debut after four straight allowance where she finished first or second. In between horses for most of the trip, Justa Lady swung out for clear running in mid-stretch, catching Our Valor in the last sixteenth to win by three-quarters of a length in :56.13 on the firm turf.
The winner is owned by her breeder Curtis Green and trained by Steve Asmussen.
