Mrs Worldwide turned in the best race of her career Nov. 16 at Gulfstream Park, winning the Juvenile Fillies Sprint S. to give the 2-year-old Global Campaign filly her first stakes win of her young career.
She is the fourth stakes horse and second stakes winner for First-Crop sire Global Campaign, who now has 13 overall winners.
Previously stakes-placed in the Presque Isle Debutante S., Mrs Worldwide was making her first start since that outing on Sept. 20. She broke on top in Saturday’s 6 ½-furlong race, then let Wiggle An’ Wine lead the way through the first quarter-mile in :23.03. Mrs Worldwide took the lead with three furlongs to go and immediately was challenged by Bella Cleopatra. That duo raced together until Mrs Worldwide put her away with a furlong to run, then held off Volatiled to win by 1 ¾-lengths
“She’d been training great and we’d given her plenty of time off her last race there,” said winning trainer Brian Lynch. “We were hoping she was going to duplicate her training in her effort here, so we couldn’t have been more happy with the way she ran.”
Owned by Flying Dutchmen Breeding and Racing LLC, Mrs Worldwide is now 2-0-2 in five starts and has earned $79,700. The chestnut filly was bred in Florida by Rebecca Ming and is a half-sister to stakes winner Stat.
Woodward S. (G1) winner Global Campaign, who has bred an average of 112 mares in his first four seasons at stud, will stand in 2025 for $7,500 S&N.
