More Than Ready’s multiple graded stakes winner Tom’s Ready was a game winner of the $100,000 Leemat S. on July 9 at Presque Isle Downs, the first stakes win of his 4-year-old season and third overall.
Winner of the Woody Stephens S. (G2) and Ack Ack S. (G3) as a 3-year-old, Tom’s Ready has amassed $803,767 for his owners G M B Racing and trainer Dallas Stewart.
Tom’s Ready was the second stakes winner of the weekend for More Than Ready, joining Sonic Boom, who captured the Grade 3 American Derby at Arlington Park on July 8.
Well off the pace for the first half-mile, Tom’s Ready had to launch a five-wide bid on the final turn, ultimately out-running Edge of Reality to win by a head in 1:37.16 for the mile on the synthetic surface (VIDEO).
Tom’s Ready was a $145,000 purchase by his owners at the 2014 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select Yearling Sale.
