Gemologist, a top-10 Second Crop Sire by both earnings and winners, registered his latest maiden special weight winner on June 19 when the cleverly-named Feed Me Carats scored by one length going a mile at Presque Isle Downs.
The chestnut 3-year-old filly is trained by Jeremiah Englehart for Gold Square LLC.
Feed Me Carats was bred in Kentucky by Classic Oaks Farm and sold for $210,000 to her owner at the 2016 OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in Training. Her dam Isabeau’s Elegance is a sister to five-time stakes winner Beau Brass and also stakes winner Bingo.
Like Feed Me Carats last year, Gemologist’s 2-year-olds have been well-received at the 2017 juvenile sales, including a $285,000 filly and $250,000 colt at the OBS March Sale.
