After a winning bid of an even $1,000,000 during the Thursday session of the April 25-28 OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in Training, the More Than Ready filly will be headed for a probable European racing career according to buyer, bloodstock agent Alessandro Marconi, who purchased the filly on behalf of Al Aasfa Racing.
“She’ll go to England first and then we’ll make a plan,” Marconi said of the filly, whose sale price was second only to a $2.45 million Tiznow colt. “I think she can go everywhere because she’s so light going over the ground. And she breezed that quickly and so easily and after the breeze, she didn’t even look like she had done anything. She was so easy on the ground and so ready for that.”
The filly, hip No. 778, had worked a furlong in a blazing 9 3/5 seconds during the Under Tack Show for consignor Wavertree Stables.
The filly is out of Miss Mary Apples, a Grade 2 stakes-placed daughter of Clever Trick. She is the dam of stakes winners Dr. Diamonds Prize and Miss Red Delicious.
The filly is More Than Ready’s second seven-figure 2-year-old of 2017, joining the colt Goren, who sold for $1.1 million at the Fasig-Tipton February sale.
