A colt by Paynter out of Grade 1 winner Awesome Humor sold for $200,000 during the final day of the March 14-15 OBS Sale of Two-Year-Olds in Training.
The bay juvenile, hip No. 357, was consigned by Paul Sharp, agent sold to prominent buyers Alex and JoAnn Lieblong. Awesome Humor was a three-time graded stakes winner at two, topped by her victory in the Spinaway S. (G1). She finished first or second in eight graded stakes and has gone on to produce four winner, including stakes-placed Keep Me Informed.
The Paynter colt is part of his first crop that hits the track this year. A top-10 yearling sire by average in 2016, Paynter had the second-highest priced colt of the year at $520,000.
