Brittany’s Dream, a 3-year-old son of Always Dreaming, registered a determined victory in the $100,000 Louisiana Stallion of the Year Star Guitar Stakes at Fair Grounds on Saturday, Feb. 24, becoming his sire’s third black-type winner this year.
Making his stakes debut, Brittany’s Dream pursued the early pace from mid-pack before moving outside of runners entering the backstretch of the one mile and 70-yard test. He tipped out four wide entering the lane and edged past the leaders in the final sixteenth to score by three-quarters of a length in the end, stopping the clock in 1:44.43. Ridden by Jose Guerrero, Brittany’s Dream is trained by Shane Wilson.

Brittany’s Tuition. The stakes win makes it back-to-back scores for Brittany’s Dream, who broke his
maiden in his previous outing at the Fair Grounds on Feb. 9. The bay colt now owns a record of 4-2-1-0
and $106,200 in earnings.
“He had been doing everything right, and he’d worked like babies had never worked for me before,”
Shane Wilson shared following the impressive victory. “All the mare’s foals got better going further, so
we knew more distance would be key. After being so high on him from the beginning, it’s really
rewarding to see him put it all together.”
Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Always Dreaming was also represented on Feb. 24 by Saudi Crown, who
finished a game third after setting all the pace in the $20 million Saudi Cup (G1), the world’s richest race,
at King Abdulaziz Racecourse in Saudi Arabia. Prior to his start in the Saudi Cup, Saudi Crown won the
$175,000 Louisiana S. (G3) at Fair Grounds Jan. 20 in his seasonal bow. Always Dreaming’s additional
2024 stakes winner is graded stakes-placed Tocayo, winner of the Dania Beach S. at Gulfstream Park in
January. Tocayo also finished third in the $175,000 Kitten’s Joy S. (G3) on Feb. 3.
