Consumer Credit battles to victory in Memories of Silver S.

More Than Ready’s Grade 3 winner Consumer Credit notched her third career stakes win in the $100,000 Memories of Silver S. at Aqueduct, outlasting Pine Needles in the stretch to win the 1 1/16-mile contest on the turf by a neck.

Winner of the Sweetest Chant S. (G3) at Gulfstream Park in January, Consumer Credit stalked the pace set by Been Here Before for six furlongs, then took over the top spot at the head of the lane before holding off Pine Needles in deep stretch. The final time over a very soft course was 1:48.56.

Bred in Kentucky by Stonestreet Thoroughbred Holdings, Consumer Credit has now won four of seven starts and earned $255,445. She is owned by Brous Stable, Gary Barber and Wachtel Stable and was a $185,000 sales grad at Keeneland September Yearlings in 2013.

More Than Ready, sire of nearly 150 stakes winners worldwide in his career, has eight black-type winners this year.
