Bellamy Road filly steps up in Santa Anita’s Sweet Life S.

Making her first stakes start, She’s a Big Winner lived up to her name with a well-earned one-length victory in the $102,300 Sweet Life S. Saturday at Santa Anita Park.

Bellamy Road now has three stakes winners in 2015, as well as the stakes-placed 3-year-old colt General Bellamy.

With Brice Blanc in the irons, the Peter Eurton trainee battled on near even terms with Shh She’s Ours through a half-mile in :43.73, then fought off a charge Bobbi Grace in the stretch to stop the timer in a torrid 1:12.42.

With the triumph, She’s a Big Winner is now 2-0-1 in her four starts. The $46,980 payday upped her earnings to $87,550.
She’s a Big Winner is the first foal out of the Ghostzapper mare I’m Surprised, who is a half-sister to Steppenwolfer, who placed in both the Kentucky Derby (G1) and Arkansas Derby (G2).
