Through the first three days of the auction, Drosselmeyer’s average was second best for all first-crop yearling sires with more than one horse sold.
Hip No. 201, consigned by St. George Sales, brought a winning bid of $225,000 from Japanese buyer K. K. Eishindo. The Kentucky-bred chestnut filly, is out a Delaware Oaks (G2) winner R Lady Joy, a daughter of Vicar who earned $581,586 in her career.
Woods Edge Farm consigned hip No. 321, a colt who was bought by the Meyerhoffs for $150,000. The bay juvenile’s page is loaded with black type, including his stakes-winning half-sister Stonestreet Song and stakes-placed half-brother Truest Legend. His dam Syndey’s Kiss is a half-sister to stakes winners High Heritage and Exploited Storm.
