Fire With Fire, a WinStar horses-in-training sales graduate, went wire to wire in the $200,000 San Luis Rey S. (G2) VIDEO March 22 at Santa Anita, becoming his sire Distorted Humor’s 49th career Graded stakes winner.
It was also Fire With Fire’s fourth overall stakes win since selling for $140,000 at the 2011 Keeneland November Sale from the annual WinStar horses-in-training consignment. The 6-year-old gray has now earned $515,354 lifetime for owner David Heerensperger and trainer Neil Drysdale. Out of the Capote mare Cosmic Fire, Fire With Fire is a half-brother to millionaire Cosmonaut.
