Distorted Humor’s stakes winners total reaches 120

When Interpret crossed the finish line in track record time in the $136,000 Jebel Ali S. Jan. 10 at the racetrack of the same name in the UAE, the recently turned 6-year-old also became the 120th stakes winner for his sire Distorted Humor.

Interpret, who is a half-brother to multiple champion and Horse of the Year Invasor (ARG), covered the about 10 furlong distance in a track record 1:57.43.

Winning trainer Musabah Al Muhairi said: “He is a horse we always knew had a big race in him and he has needed every yard of the trip. He stays very well so a good fast gallop helped him and Silvestre (jockey De Sousa) has kept him going.”

With the victory, Interpret is now 3-4-0 in 10 starts.

Distorted Humor ranks third among all active North American sires with his 120 stakes winners and also his 48 graded stakes winners. With 12 crops to date, the venerable WinStar Farm stallion also tops all active sires in the yearling sales ring, with a lifetime average of $244,082. Distorted Humor stands the 2014 season at WinStar for $100,000 LFS&N.
