Dominant debutante is ‘Kowboy’s’ 6th winner

Princess Dinah, a 2-year-old filly from the first crop of champion Kodiak Kowboy, became her sire’s sixth first-crop winner when she scored a dominant five-length win in her career debut in a $25,000 Maiden Special Weight Saturday, Sept. 7 at Canterbury Downs.

Bred by WinStar Farm, Princess Dinah was purchased as a yearling by owner Paul Schaffer, who earned a quick return of $15,000 with the debut win by his promising young filly. Trainer Clay Brinson campaigns the chestnut daughter of Kodiak Kowboy. Princess Dinah is out of the Unbridled mare Safely, who hails from the immediate family of several graded stakes winners including late champion War Pass.

Kodiak Kowboy is a top 8 freshman sire thus far in North America, with his half dozen winners accumulating more than $225,000 to date.
