Bodemeister’s first colt to sell during Wednesday’s session of the April 25-28 OBS Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in Training brought a winning bid of $250,000 from top buyer Narvick International.
The bay colt, hip No. 386, was consigned by Ciaran Dunne’s Wavertree Stables.
The top-class female family starts with the colt’s dam Elusive Horizon, a five-time stakes winner. Elusive Horizon is a half-sister to Super Ninety Nine, romping winner of the Southwest S. (G3) and now a stallion. Elusive Horizon’s dam, Exogenetic, is a half-sister to the Grade 1 winner Exogenous.
Bodemeister, whose first foals are 3-year-olds of 2017, include top Kentucky Derby (G1) candidate and Florida Derby (G1) winner Always Dreaming.
