Leading Second-Crop sire Bodemeister had one of the top fillies during the fourth and final session of the Oct. 23-26 Fasig-Tipton Kentucky Fall Yearlings sale, with Michael Neatherlin going to $225,000 to secure the bay Kentucky-bred.
Bred by SF Racing, Baccari Bloodstock consigned hip No. 1241. The filly’s New Zealand-bred dam was highweighted and three in her homeland, when she was Group 1-placed. She is the dam of Bayakoa S. (G2) winner Broken Sword.
Bodemeister also was responsible for hip No. 1185 on Thursday. Consigned by Bluewater Sales Agency, the colt went for $200,000 to Paul Sharp, agent.
The bay youngster is out of Inclination, who has produced six winners to date, including Grade 2-placed In Jack’s Memory.
Bodemeister is the sire of this year’s Kentucky Derby (G1) winner Always Dreaming, who will return to the racetrack for a 2018 campaign. Overall, Bodemeister’s second crop has won or placed in six stakes and earned more than $4.5 million. He will stand next year at WinStar Farm for $40,000 live foal, stands and nurses.
