Bill Casner grew up in El Paso Texas, and developed a love of the horse at an early age. In 1963,at the age of 15 he started galloping horses at Sunland Park and fell under the spell of racing. He put himself through college at Tarleton State University in Stephenville,Texas, by galloping Thoroughbreds,including champion Cho Croute,at various race tracks around the country.Upon graduation, Casner embarked on a training career in the Midwest.

In 1979,Casner left the Thoroughbred industry,and with former horse owner Kenny Troutt,founded Excel Communications. In addition to Excel,which went public in 1996,Casner owns Dallas / Fort Worth based,B& R Equipment.

Casner re-entered the Thoroughbred industry in the mid- 1990's,through various racing partnerships.In early 2000 he and Mr.Troutt came full circle and formed another partnership,establishing WinStar Farm in Versailles, KY.

Bill has received numerous awards including the Thoroughbred Charities of America 2007 Leadership Award, the 2005 W.T. Young Humanitarian Award, as well as the 2003 TOBA Industry Service Award. Casner currently serves on the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association board of trustees and is a past Chairman. He is also a member of the Breeder's Cup Board of Trustees. A Vice Chairman and co-founder of the Kentucky Equine Education Project (KEEP), Mr. Casner is also a founding member of The Race For Education, a national scholarship foundation providing educational opportunities to children of racing's backside and farm workers.

Mr. Casner, his wife Susan,and their daughter Kayce,are residents of Flower Mound,Texas.

Thanks to a lifetime of experience from all aspects of the thoroughbred industry, Doug brings a unique blend of hands on experience and business management skill to the team at Winstar. He received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Kentucky in equine marketing and management, and graduated from University of Kentucky law school in 1993. He briefly practiced law in Lexington with Wyatt, Tarrant, and Combs before returning full-time to the thoroughbred industry. Doug has worked for Hall of Fame trainers Laz Barrera and P.G. Johnson, as well as in England with trainer Clive Brittain. Doug also served 2 years as assistant to leading two-year-old consignor Jerry Bailey. In 1997 Doug started Cauthen Sales Agency, a consulting, management and sales company. Concurrently, Doug worked part-time marketing the stallions at Prestonwood Farm, the predecessor of WinStar. The association with WinStar started when the principals bought the farm. Doug was named President of WinStar in 2001.

Natanya grew up in Lexington. She rode dressage and event horses, worked at thoroughbred sales and worked on thoroughbred and standardbred farms throughout college. In 1994, she graduated from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Biotechnology. After college, she attended Veterinary school at The Ohio State University and graduated in 1998. By 1999, Natanya had completed an internship at Peterson and Smith Equine Hospital in Ocala, Florida. She then worked at Woodford Veterinary Clinic from 1999-2002. Natanya has been with WinStar for 5 years now. She is married to Mike McMahon from Saratoga Springs, NY. WinStar-bred Kentucky Derby Champion Funny Cide was born on his father's McMahon Thoroughbred Farm in New York.

During a 1994 visit to Lexington, Kentucky, the Ohio native was introduced to the sport of horse racing at Keeneland racetrack. During years thereafter, Jamie authored the "2001 Keeneland Handicapping Guide," a statistical analysis of Keeneland. Jamie relocated to Kentucky in 2002, where he was briefly employed as an Accountant for Ramsey Farm in Nicholasville. Since 2004, he has been employed by WinStar Farm as the Assistant Controller and Webmaster.

Robert is a native of London, England who relocated to the Bluegrass in 1997 from Newmarket, the heart of racing and breeding in the UK. Robert joined WinStar with over 20 years experience in the horse racing industry as a trainer, farm owner, consignor and bloodstock agent. With this extensive range of experience Robert is responsible for all aspects of Bloodstock and Stallion Sales at WinStar. He is always available and more than happy to discuss and advise clients on every facet of breeding and racing.
